Gone Fishing

"Gone Fishing"
8x8 in Oil on Museum Quality Panel

I made this painting for my husband's birthday. The image was taken at Lake Roosevelt during a relaxing day fishing with his dad. The canoe was a handmade gift his dad lovingly made and gave to him many years ago. Capturing this moment has true meaning and sentimental value that will last forever.

Winter Moon

"Winter Moon"
6x6 in Oil on Museum Quality Panel
$180.00

A peaceful night...the breeze is still and all is silent under the glistening moonlight. This would be the perfect evening to bundle up and put on the snow shoes for a quiet stroll under the moonlight. The glow of the moonlit path is laced with bunny tracks as the sparkling crystals float down from the branches above.

Autumn Pond

"Autumn Pond"
14x11 on Canvas

Fall is such a gorgeous time of year and the brilliant colors reflecting on the water is so spectacular! The crisp air brings warm fires, hot cider, good books, spicy candles and cozy blankets.

This weekend will be our annual trip to the pumpkin patch which has been the family tradition for years. The girls plan their outfits months in advance for the plethora of photographs that will be taken. The search for the perfect pumpkin takes quite some time..but the rule is we will buy it as long as you can pick it up and carry it yourself. : ) After picking pumpkins we enter the corn maze to see who can make it to the top of the castle first! Then we break for caramel apples and munch on other homemade goodies while strolling through the craft booths. Finally, we pick up some honey sticks and several gallons of apple cider before we head home to carve pumpkins and roast seeds.
Unfortunately, we will be missing a couple of kids this year but as tradition has it they will be back..as there is always next year!
Hope you are enjoying all of the wonderful things this season has to offer.

HAPPY FALL!

"My Hero...Dad"

"My Hero...Dad"
8x8 in Oil on Museum Quality Panel

I know it's been a while since I've blogged. Life got busy and we just started homeschooling this year. It has been a new experience and a bit time consuming! As we adjust to the new schedule I will be painting more as we get into the groove of things. : )

I had to make time for this one of dad. He is my hero for many reasons not just because he served in the Navy to protect our country and not only because he worked more than one job at a time to provide for our family. My dad is my hero because he truly loves and values his family and has always made us his priority over the years. From the weekend camping trips, early morning fishing days, to Sunday is family time. I didn't always "get" it or appreciate this (especially during the terrible teens.) But I realize now how important and special this time was and I cherish all those wonderful memories.

Looking forward to many more!

Happy Birthday DAD!
